In Meppershall, we are very proud of our village community and of our heritage. We even have our own website, as does the Village Hall, the focal centre for local entertainment. Our village crest is the coat of arms of the de Meppershall family. William de Meppershall was the royal larderer back in the times of the Domesday Book, where references can be found to William and to Meppershall Castle, which is thought to have been built by the de Meppershall family around 1100.
